Robin Clarfield Tolvin is an executive recruiter and business consultant with extensive, hands-on experience as a senior-level corporate executive, human resources leader, operator and merchant. Over her more than thirty-five year career, she has served as a senior human resources executive for Estée Lauder USA and Canada and Gurwitch Products, a search consultant for both Walter K. Levy and Robert E. Kerson Associates and the Kenzer Corp., and an executive consultant to many fashion and beauty brands including mark., a division of Avon Products, LeSportsac and MAC Cosmetics. In each of these positions, she succeeded by consistently finding the right people who “fit” the culture of the organization and providing them with the right tools to drive the company’s growth.
Her human resources philosophy is informed by her background as a senior apparel merchant and store Operating Vice President and General Manager for Bloomingdale’s and Senior Vice President, Stores for B. Altman. She entered the HR world with an understanding that business is driven by precise bottom lines, and human capital must be consistently in alignment with these objectives to drive profitability. Ms. Tolvin understands the key issues confronting today’s retailers and manufacturers and has the vision, experience and passion to use executive search and organizational design to achieve business goals.
Education: Ms. Tolvin obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree, with honors, majoring in French, from Rutgers University in 1972. She spent her junior year in France, studying in Paris at the Sorbonne and in Tours, at the Universite Francois Rabelais.
